So, I got a call from a good friend's wife today, which was weird since I've spoken to her once on the phone in the 3 years that I've known her. She said, "Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I am 11 weeks pregnant - I'm due in May."

I was so taken aback that I didn't really react other then saying, "oh, that's great news."

They've been married a year, and said they were going to start trying at their one year anniversary. Well, looks like she got PG right away.

I'm bitter, and I'm really trying not to be, but it really stings. And it still seems weird to me, that our friend (who we've known since college), didn't call DH or I.

WTF?  Was she just going through her phone and calling everyone she knew?  I would have had the exact same reaction you did. I hate that I get bitter about this, but you're right it stings every time especially knowing it was so easy for them.

I really try hard not to be bitter, I usually always am, but DH reminds me we don't know what they went through to get that way also, who knows what will happen in the future.

I'm sorry.  That is really weird that she called you to tell you that.  I totally understand the sting.
