XP: Bedding Assistance Needed...

I'm looking for bedding for the crib and think I've finally narrowed down what I'd like to find.  The room is a warm soft yellow.  I love the color teal/turquoise/aqua so I'm thinking some type of fabric with that color along with cranberry and some cream colors to draw in the yellow.  I love bumpers but since that's a big no-no I dont plant to use it so I really am only looking for the crib skirt, possibly curtains/valance and maybe sheets (though I think I can find those fairly cheap).  Any thoughts?  I'm hoping not to spend a ton of money bc I just can't imagine LO enjoying it as much as I will aesthetically.  TIA!

Have you thought about making your own crib skirt?  Its really easy (only a a few seams) and you could use any fabric you find that you like.  You can do the same with the drapes.

I'm not crafty, but a friend of mine thinks she can try it...any advice?  I know nothing about sewing so I have no idea where to begin.
