If you use BG AIO, sizing help please

DS is nearly 16 pounds and in the medium BG AIO I set the aplix about 1.5 inches apart from each other.  The weight says 15-22 and he's already pretty far from the aplix touching each other so I'm wondering if he won't fit in these very long.  He is not chunky - but tall so his weight is not really in his belly but his length.  I need to order more for day care and don't want to spend a ton on something he's only going to wear for a short while.  Should I order size large and have aplix overlap or would the rise/thigh be very big?  Or do you think the med will fit for a while?  Thoughts?

My 7mo is 17-18 pounds and very tall (29 inches) and has lots of room in the medium still.  My nephew wore his until he was 18 months before switching to large.  When they start to walk, they tend to thin out a bit.  I have some larges and those are definitely too big for my baby and look like they will be for awhile; they gap around his legs.  In your case, I'd go with more mediums (that's what we send to daycare too).
