starting to cruise?

When your LO started to cruise was it just a couple of steps at a time?

Wes said the other day that Aubrey was standing at the coffee table playing with her puzzle and she took two steps to her left.  Today I was playing with her at her activity table and she took two steps then stopped and then took two more steps, kind of slowly making her way around the table.  So is this the beginning of cruising for her or is she just experimenting?

Re: starting to cruise?

  • Look out Candi, Miss Aubrey is on the move!  This is exactly how M started.  We have a coffee table ottoman and he would pull up on it and slowly figured out he could move down either side.  My brother used to make fun of him saying how he would shuffle from side to side but couldn't didn't no what to do when he got to the end...i.e. he didn't realize he could go all the way around it for a couple weeks.  But when he did - he was really working it!  From the ottoman to the sofa to the wall...

    Have fun!!

  • Definitely sounds like it!  congrats!

I meant to also ask you if you decided to do the sign language w/ her and if it's helping her 'tantrums' any?

Yeah we are working on all done and more now.  She is picking up on all done pretty easily and it's helping with the throwing of the food on the floor, which I love.  More she's not really getting yet, but we are going to keep working on it.

We figured out too that when she turns and holds up something to us she is looking for us to name whatever she is holding, and that has seemed to help some with the frustrations as well.  She also picked up a new word this week with ball.

Thanks for the suggestion..I'm looking forward to doing more with her :)
