3D ultrasound for #2?

I did it for #1 and while it was fun, I didn't think I would go back for #2. DH is apparently all excited to do it again. I just checked the prices and my god I can't believe I paid $140 last time (I guess no kids and 2 incomes leaves extra money)!

Would you do it for #2? I guess I could get the smaller $99 package and that would be ok too, but I am torn if it is really worth it when that money could go to baby stuff.

I don't get the 3D ultrasounds unless they're deemed medically necessary. I find them outrageously expensive and personally wouldn't pay for that. You can find out the sex at your big US anyway, so why pay for the extra. But, that's just my opinion and I didn't want to know the sex so I really didn't care to have all those extra details. I thought the regular US I received at the OB was just fine.

This is how I feel now but with #1 I was all sucked into the hype (and was disappointed) of getting it since everyone I knew did . Now, not so much. I guess once I tell DH the price he may change his mind quickly!

I didn't have one with #1 because frankly I didn't have time with moving, buying a house, cars, etc, but if I got pregnant again I'd do it but only because they are free at my OB's office when you get your anatomy scan.

i wouldn't pay for one, but luckily i got one for free since they'd just gotten the equipment and my tech wanted to try it out.  it was really cool but i would use the $ for baby stuff if it were me.

I am only getting one (Prenatal Peek) because my parents are in town and they will be able to go with us to find out the sex! (MONDAY!!!!)  I wouldn't do it otherwise though.

I don't know--I probably would. I paid $99 at Prenatal Peek for ours, and we really enjoyed it. Holly wasn't cooperating, and we didn't get tons of great shots, but it was still really special. We already knew the sex, but we invited our parents, and they really thought it was cool. Unless my OB starts offering them, we'd probably do it again with #2.

This is what DH thinks, because it was special and we got the CD for Jocelyn we should do the same for #2. I can't wait for him to get home tonight so I can tell him the price. I think the $99 one is more reasonable.

I didnt get one with Ds and wont next go round. I had to have an extra ultrasound aorund 30 weeks or so cuz of plecenta previa and the tech was nice to flip it to 3d and take a few shots for me!! but i wouldn't have spent the extra on it either. But everyone is different.

Nope, I wouldn't pay for it.  I think I'd only consider doing it if I had an uncooperative baby at the big u/s and I didn't get to find out the gender.  I'm sure I'd shell out $100 to find out!  Otherwise, it's not something I'd spend money on.  I didn't have one with DS either. 

I guess there's a chance that Baby #2 might be jealous that Jocelyn has a 3-d ultrasound DVD and s/he doesn't, but I imagine Baby #2 probably wouldn't care THAT much either way.

I wouldn't do it to find out the sex.  With Dylan we did it later at like 32 weeks.  You could see all of his facial features and I was so excited to get a preview of what my little boy would sort of look like.  Comparing them now, it's kind of amazing.  I'd probably do it again with our second.
