Your non-baby to do list

I have a to do list of things that would be much easier to take care of now than once the baby comes. I doubt I'll finish it all but regardless I feel like I'm forgetting something! Please share your to do list that doesn't include things that are specifically for the baby. 1. Create and notarize will, health care directive, and durable power of attorney. 2. Get renter's insurance. (we moved recently) 3. Replace smoke detector batteries. 4. Check that cars are ready for winter. 5. Research and buy a good air filter. 6. Put all loose pictures into an album. 7. Organize and type all the recipes I cook from. 8. Change bedroom door for one that locks. (Peace of mind if a babysitter is there.) 9. Finally hang all the paintings that are sitting in the closet!

Re: Your non-baby to do list

  • If you don't trust a babysitter to stay out of your bedroom then why would you trust her with your baby? I'm just saying.
  • Loading the player...
  • DH is taking the kiddos out of town this weekend =D

    - Organize the pantry

    - Put away stock-pile in the basement

    - Organize craft/teaching area for little one's

    - Finish laundry =/

    - Clean the house overall - it'll be nice to clean without *helpers*

    :)

  • I'm totally not as organized as you are with a list made out, but I definitely have a few things that I'm waiting to do until after the baby gets here. Creating a will is one of them, finishing the renos on our stairs (well, that's on DH's to do list), new carpet in our bedroom, and a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

This.  If I can't trust someone not to steal from me, I would NEVER leave my child with them....

  • 1-laundry

2-clean kitchen and stock fridge and freezer

    3-put away all misc. nick-knacks

    4-oil change and new tires

    5-finish re-doing living room

6-have DH get wood stove put in and bring in plenty of wood

    7-organize bedroom

That is all I have on my mind right now, but I know there is stuff I've forgot.

  • The photo part of your list seems really ambitious to me...I have a box of photos that I've just accepted will never make it into albums!

    As for me:

-Donate/toss the crap I piled up in my closet thinking I was actually going to sell at a yard sale.

-Get one more haircut and tint back to my natural color

-Start some Christmas shopping early in case I don't have time/don't feel like it later

    - Put together a will/legal-type stuff (luckily my dad does estate planning so we just need to pin him down on a time)

He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

I absolutely don't. It's too easy and tempting to swipe jewelry when you have two jewelry boxes on top of the dresser. You have to be a truly dispicable, horrible person to mistreat an infant. Perhaps I woul feel differently if I even knew someone who could possibly babysit but I've only met two neighbors since the move.
  • -clean out the kitchen cabinets and rearrange

    -reorganize bedroom closet

    -vacuum and steam vacuum carpet

    -better organize bedroom

    -get cars detailed

-start packing up things we do not need in preparation for our move to Kansas (finally DH got a change of duty station so we are leaving Louisiana after Christmas)

I will find more I am sure...the move alone will give me a lot to do.
