Hey all,
We found out earlier this week that out little fruit loops are one of each gender and now I am in a designing funk. LOL. I have been overly joyed with the excitement of decorating our LOs' room, but it is seeming more challenging now that I am trying to put it together for one boy and one girl.
I am expecting to make the bedding with help from the grandmas and am thinking about having one pattern be in both beddings to tie them together, but the other fabrics to be more gender specific for individuality. Ha, I sound like I am totally over thinking this, but I am stumped for how to do things.
If anyone has any pics of their b/g twin bedrooms, I would highly appreciate it for inspiration, feel free to PM me if you would rather not post on here with pics. TIA!!
Re: B/G Twin nursery PIP's needed?! Please
sorry for the crappy quality...but here is a pic of ours:
We did brown walls and green bedding with an owl, bird, tree theme.
Cute! I like the neutral idea of paint with other accents, but I just wouldn't be able to do brown. Our largest room in the house is all brown (a 2 story living room) and I would be way over the color to do another room in brown. LOL
I don't have any pics for ya but this website is awesome! good luck

I haven't gotten our nursery started yet -- I'm still waiting for DH to clear the guest room furniture out of there. But I'm planning to do orange for the walls, their names above their cribs, and give each of them bedding that's a little more gender-specific.
I think the fabrics are a great place to start to pick your colors. I found a ton of great fabrics at a local quilt store. Riley Blake is my current favorite -- she has flannels and cottons, and among the fabrics I got for DS and DD, there are blues and greens and oranges in common in both. Annette Tatum has a line called Little House with Westminster Fabrics that has a great alphabet print fabric that comes in both girly and boyish versions. And I have some polka dot fabric from Michael Miller that works great for both. I found the smaller quilt stores have more selection (and sometimes more modern choices) than Joann's and the bigger places, and when I wander around, I'll end up in an aisle where everything feels like my style. If you don't find anything inspiring close to home, you can also try Fabrics.com or QuiltHome.com.
For wall paint, Land of Nod has a paint palette online, and I think Pottery Barn Kids does too. It's nice to see their pictures of how the colors look in nurseries, against different finishes of cribs, etc.
We did a Pooh Bear theme with a light green wall color. We were Team Green, so we tried to make it as gender neutral as possible.
*sorry if size of the pictures is weird - I am still trying to figure out how to post pictures.
*Once I get around to it, I plan to put their names above their cribs.
