where are you getting bedding separates..other than PBK?

We're planning on being on team green once again for baby #2.   With DS, I fell in love with a boy and girl pattern from PBK and bought the boy one once he was born.    All I got was the quilt, some sheets, and a crib skirt.    We did the Patchwork Star quilt(which they just brought back again!) a solid blue skirt, and gingham sheets.

Now if #2 is a boy, he's using the same set.   But if it's a girl, I need new stuff.   I'm really not in love with the patterns they have out right now.   I love the patchwork in blue, not so much in pink.   Hopefully, in the spring when they put out some new lines, there will be a girl bedding I can earmark as the one.

In the meantime, where are some other places that sell bedding separates?   I'm not a fan of those bed in a bag sets at BRU since I won't use most of the stuff in them.   All I want is a quilt, 3 sheets, and a crib skirt.   However, I can't find too many places that sell separates!

  • Since we can't use a quilt anyway, I bought solid crib sheets from BRU and DIY-ed a skirt.  I used one of the cute blanket we got as a gift to drape over the side to add a little color, but there's enough patterns and color through the rest of the room that it's not really missing anything.

  • For standard sized cribs, I think you can save a lot of money by going with the Carters separates.  I have actually seen them at BRUs and boutique stores  and the Carters stores of course.  I also ocassionallys see circo separates from Target.  I would check online for Target and in stores.  I agree that you don't have to go the bedding set route.

  • My bedding is Sweet Kyla, and they sell it as separates.

Many makers are now selling bumperless sets, too, so you could get the quilt, sheet and skirt and then just pick up coordinating sheets.   I considered that, but decided to skip the quilt. So we just bought sheets and a skirt. (Although the sheets that went with my bedding were super expensive because they were organic... I have one organic sheet and two cheap ones from BRU.)

  • I also got all of my bedding from Land of Nod. I mixed and matched sheets, etc from different sets. Love it.

We bought our bedding from Land of Nod, which sells separates.
    This.

Land of Nod sells high quality sheets, 200 thread count or higher is whats recommended in the baby bargains book. They also say to make sure that the elastic goes all the way around the fitted sheet and not just in the corners (which their sheets do). The sheets to my set are 200 thread count w/ LON.

I second this.  I didn't buy a set because I do not want the quilt, bumper, or diaper stacker, and that's the bulk of the set!  Unfortunately, many brands (like the ones at BRU, as you noted) do not sell components of the set individually.  Target sells some of their items separately (check for them on Amazon, too) and Carter's has a lot of stuff you can mix and match.  I registered for items from the Cocalo Azania collection but could not get the dust ruffle/crib skirt, so I found a Carter's dust ruffle that matches PERFECTLY.  Very happy about that!

Babysupermall.com has a lot of separates, even bumpers, which you usually cannot find separately elsewhere.  They had my dust ruffle for a short time but I waited too long to order it.  You can get fabric samples from babysupermall.com, too.  That's how I know the carter's dust ruffle will match.
