Honest question - what is so offensive about these terms? I've been (mostly lurking) on TB since my first pregnancy, and I know these terms are totally off limits...but not sure why? I personally think "knocked-up" sounds worse. Not trying to start anything, just curious why some of you dislike it so much....

This exactly.
It really does sound very immature to use those terms.

OKYD! lol
Prego = Spaghetti Sauce
Preggers = Teen mom "Like...OMG...are you...like...preggers or something?!"
How about "pregnified" or "Pregnilicious" or "Pregz"
Those are awesome! Right? Right? Anyone?

Good to know. I don't really ever use these terms, but never have found them off limits IRL when I'm talking casually with girlfriends, so was surprised they create such a stir here. It is interesting that terms like "humping" are completely acceptable over "intercourse" or "sex" though. I'm not saying that sarcastically, just find it surprising.
I find the outrage about the use of those words on here to be a bit much. I personally just use plain old pregnant, but I know plenty of highly educated adult ladies that use it as slang or just for fun. I think people just do not want to be associated with Teen Mom, but it really isn't that serious.
If someone IRL called me knocked up I may give them the side eye, preggers not so much.

Here We Go Again!!
This is exactly how I feel. I also find it just so annoying to hear people refer to themselves as preggo or preggers or some other silly term. I just think the word is pregnant, so use it.
Right On
I dont really care either way. But someone coming on here saying "hey could I be preggo?" just sounds like something a highschooler would say. It seems like the ones who use preggers and prego on this board are usually drive bys and fishers, not people who really want to join in conversations over here.
On here, I think KU or KTFU is hilarious. But IRL, I would think it was different.
I think I am just going to be known as "The Condition" when I someday get KU. It works for The Situation

That was amazing. You win for the day.
THIS!! i really truly don't care what people use to say pregnant... but be aware, your choice makes you sound a certain way to others...
and i don't want to sound like someone who left their brain on the bus.
but... i have to say, we all do some pretty stupid, silly, immature, non-grown up things at times... and MOST of us have probably asked at least ONE stupid question one here... so i'm certainly not gonna go round throwing stones in my glass house!! lol
