toddlers and strawberries...can they eat too many?

Eli loves strawberries and if I forget to put the container away after I have cut some up for him, he wants more and will scream for them. I think he just ate about 11 strawberries. Can a toddler eat too many strawberries? Probably a stupid question, but figured I would ask.

  • God, I hope not! My DS loves them also... some days I tell him he's going to turn into one!

  • Strawberries are Andrew's favorite too!  He would eat them all day if I let him.  I try and limit them only because I worry that they will give him a diaper rash.

  • My boys love strawberried.  THey can eat a container in one sitting so I would say no. :)

  • In our case yes because they give Katie horrible diaper rash but if he does not get diaper rash I think he can eat as many as he wants! Katie loves strawberries so it is a bummer she can not eat them.

  • might cause diarrhea... but otherwise should be fine.

If kidney stones run in your family - might not be a great food to eat tons of.... they cause kidney stones in many people - as all high oxalate foods do.... but the average person could eat a ton and have no problems - it's just us "stone formers" who have to eat in moderation (i am a stone former, lol)
