I had my GTT/25 week appt today. The GTT part was fine; the drink was gross but I got it down without a problem. The midwife took a look at my weight and said "What happened?" (I gained 10 lbs in a month). We talked about that and she said that vegetarians (I am not, but we don't eat meat at home) gain more weight than meat eaters, and that I am measuring just fine. So we'll just keep an eye on it until the GTT results come back.
However, since I left her office, I have been bone tired. I ate a snack right after (Luna Bar) but was really feeling like I could go straight to bed. Then, on my way back from getting lunch (before I ate it) I had a big blood sugar crash that left me feeling shaky and scared. Now I am not shaky but I feel horrible, like my whole body aches with fatigue. Did this happen to you?

Ha! The office where I had my test is right down the street from Peter Luger's, the famous NY steak house. Unfortunately it does not open for breakfast, otherwise maybe I could have gotten some delicious cow protein and avoided the crash... I thought it was frustrating that they make you walk past these delicious restaurants after fasting all night.
Same, exactly. Even the weight gain & not eating meat at home, part. I didn't feel better until after lunch the next day. And I was so thirsty for the next two days afterwards, too.
I'm still a few days out from my test. But, when I was a teenager, I had my blood sugar tested. Not sure how long it was, but it felt like an eternity! I think they took my blood maybe 5 times that day.
I definitely felt weak and shaky after that was over.
