I pump in this little closet of a room that's officially our nuclear medicine injection room. I am able to lock the door inside and seriously only 3 people in the whole hospital ever use this room so I have never really worried about being walked in on.
I had everything set out ready to go when I heard someone try the handle, I didn't really worry about it since my co worker is sick and I am the only one in NM today, until I heard keys start to jingle in the lock...I flung my lab coat on to cover myself (of course it's the one day I don't wear a nursing top under my scrubs!) and flew up to the door as it was opening. Apparently housekeeping decided to make their rounds earlier today, I pulled the door shut and yelled out that I was pumping and to come back later. Needless to say, it wasn't my best pumping session and I was so nervous that door was going to fling open and I would be flashing all the cardiologists holding those dumb breast pump phalanges in my hand!
Re: walked in on while pumping...
That was a close one! That is something I dread too every time I pump. Even though my office door locks, I always worry someone is going to pop in.
