Why did I choose white upholstered chairs??

Oh yeah...because that was five years ago and BEFORE I had kids!

Our dining room chairs look nas-tee! Does anyone have any whitening tricks? I tried some upholstery cleaning spray and they are out in the sun right now, but I don't think I'm making much progress.

Or, how much do you think it might cost to have 8 chairs re-upholstered?

I don't have a suggestion but in my crazy pregnancy brain I decided that all furniture in the nursery HAD to be WHITE....including the expensive gliding chair....I knew how stupid I was the minute it was delivered.

I'm just enjoying the whiteness until DD does something to wreck it (but hey, maybe she'll be a neatfreak...)

I just had a friend who had some stuff recovered and she said it would have been cheaper to buy new furniture!  She called all over the state getting quotes, but they were all expensive.  Maybe you could try to recover them yourself?

Get slipcovers! Check out Ikea - I know they had some reasonably priced slipcovers. If you don't like how it looks, you can always pull the fabric taut and staple it on the underside of the chair where no on can see, so it looks like it's recovered.

It is so expensive.  If they are wooden chairs that needs cushions revored you could totally do it.  Otherwise I would look for some cute tie-back slip covers or buy new chairs.

ETA: I just cracked myself up by thinking it would be a good idea to get them dyed a different color.....maybe the same place that does the wedding shoes will do it for you.  LOL

Can you call one of the carpet cleaning places and see if they'd be able to clean them?
