I have had pretty bad lower right back pain for a few weeks now and it seems to be getting worse. Its to the right of my tailbone. I've tried walking on the treadmill, stretching, yoga and a prenatal massage...nothing helped! Ice and heat help temporarily, but its to the point where I can barely get out of bed or walk. I haven't called the Dr because I imagine they will tell me that back pain is "normal".
Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a pillow that I use at my desk at work and I get up at least once an hour to walk around and stretch a little. Thanks!
Re: Low back pain
Every suggestion I'd have, you've already tried. Tylenol? It might be time to tt the doctor if nothing OTC has helped and you can barely walk.

Massage therapy.
I have a horrible back, and once I hit 5 months I went every other week until I went on mat leave.
I had it for my entire 8th month. It was awful. My doctor made me come in to make sure it wasn't early labor. He checked me out and told me it was normal and to take Tylenol. Tylenol did sh*t. I honestly could barely walk sometimes. The only position that alleviated the pain was laying down. My OB offered to put me on bedrest so I could get Short Term Disability but I declined since I still had 8 weeks until my due date. By the time I hit my 9th month, the pain miraculous went away. I believe that once the baby dropped a little is when it finally went away.
Best of luck! I really hope that you aren't stuck with it for a full month like I was.

Not sure if you've tried stretching with an exercise ball or not. I could still do that at around 27 weeks (sit on ball, then roll ball up your back). Hint: you may need help getting up. If you've tried all of those things I'd definitely call your OB. Just to make sure that there isn't something they need to check on or can help you with. I had lower back pain the last few weeks I was pregnant (like 34 weeks on), but in hind sight it was probably a tiny bit of preterm labor. Not enough to worry about in my case, just caused me to start dilating a bit and be put on bed rest around 35.5 weeks. Honestly the bed rest was more to do with my high blood pressure/preeclampsia type symptoms than my back.
