I'm sorry to hear about your DH. My SIL has a-fib. Did they check his potassium? If my SIL's potassium levels dip below 3 (i believe its 3) she goes into a-fib. She had the ablation a few years ago and hasn't gone into a-fib once since then (with the ablation and the potassium control). As far as the surgery goes, it is a drawn out process but she was home that night. I hope it doesn't get to that point for your DH. If you have questions that you forgot to ask his dr. I can always ask my SIL for you.
Big hugs to you.
Re: Hugginangel
I know I'm 2 days late getting back but after my initial post (when DH was sleeping finally) I haven't been back until now.
He knew that Afib can be caused by low Potass. and made sure they checked it in the ER. It was actually fine, he was kinda hoping it was low and that was the answer but it wasn't...BOOOOO! We don't have any answer as to why it happened and he did have to be cardioverted but he's doing better now.
Thanks for info and trust me if I have any questions I will surely ask.
One good thing that came out of this was the Cardiologist he saw specializes in Afib an is on our insurance so he is going to switch to him instead of the one he was seeing.
