We have both...we used the Exersaucer at 4 months and then when she was stronger and able to push up on her own (and mainly b/c she got bored of the exersaucer)...we switched to the Jumperoo at 7 months.

All of my mom friends love the FP rainforest jumperoo...
We had this one and DS loved it. We liked it because it had quite a few toys like an exersaucer but he was also really able to bounce. He loved that thing! I was so sad to pack it away!

We did this! However, if I could have only had one, I would have gotten the jumperoo. I would have just put her in it and let her play without jumping when she was smaller.
I registered for and got both. I thought the exersaucer would be good for when she is smaller, and the Jumperoo as she gets bigger. If i had door frames in my house, I would have just gotten a jumper that you can put in the door but we don't. My nephew has one of both and loved both of them so that helped me in deciding to get both as well.
We had the benefit of DS trying both at Day care to see what he liked and he prefers the jumperoo. The boy loves to jump! We have the baby einstein jumperoo which is a good combination of both because it has 360 degrees of turning radius and a full console with different activities to play as well as the jumper. The new baby einstein jumper is pretty awsome and they have returned to a interactive toy design and scaled down the size of the seat (which was common complaints of the previous design). Good luck
Re: Exersaucer vs Jumperoo
We chose to get a Jumperoo--we only have room for one and it looked more fun that the Exersaucer!
