Glass bottles?

Any thoughts on glass bottles? I like the idea but i'm afraid of breaking them. They sell some type of sleeve to help prevent them from breaking but i'm just not sure. I'll be breast feeding for the first three months and then once I go back to work i'll be pumping.

Re: Glass bottles?

  • I love glass bottles and haven't had any break yet.

We use Evenflo (we have both the shorter and tall ones) and use the silicone sleeve over them. They are great because they are glass so that means they are BPA free, easy to sterilize and clean, and this particular brand is also not very expensive compared to some of the other types. I think another plus is that they are not made in China, but that is something that doesn't matter to everyone. If your baby doesn't like the nipple that comes with the Evenflo you can try one of their other nipples... Its called Comfort Flow or something like that.

I have also heard good things about the Born Free glass bottles, and widemouth style.

  • I just wanted to add that I have dropped glass bottles on my travertine tile floor and they didn't break.  You must have to really chuck those things to get them to break.
  • We loved our glass bottles till our son got old enough to toss (and break them).  I woul use them agi but take them away sooner.  I may never forget when he chucked one in victoria's secret and it shattered.  I used Born free and they don't break unless you really throw it hard (like my son did).
