WWYD re:spa

I asked for money for my birthday so that I could purchase a spa package at Mitchell's Salon and Spa which is a half day including a mani, pedi, massage and facial.  So, my question is....do I need to tip each person individually..which could be 3-4 different people?  That could get pricey, and I am already paying alot for the package as it is.  If you think I need to tip each individually, what do you think is reasonable without costing me a fortune?

Re: WWYD re:spa

  • I tip 20% on services. That's pretty much the accepted standard, though some people might tip 15%. But 20% is 20%, no matter if you tip four people $5 on 25 dollar services or one person $20 on a $100 service. I'd just ask at the desk how to best handle it.

    Yes, this!

  • Tip is not included in the package at Mitchell's. I would tell them you want to tip XTZ percent BUT to split it up according to the cost of the labor. For example- the massage is way more expensive than the manicure so the massage therapist would get a bigger portion. Make sense?

I tip 20% and have them split it based on cost of service. HTH
