We will be taking some weekend trips throughout TX for DH's work (we thought we'd just make getaway weekends out of them) and will take DD. I want to make sure that we pick completely smoke-free environments/hotels if possible. I am nervous about SIDS and HATE cigarette smoke anyway. Plus we will be driving from TX to FL for Christmas and DD will only be 4.5 months...
Anyone know if there are any chains that have gone smoke-free? We tend to stay at places like Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Quality Inn, Comfort Suites, Best Western, Fairfield Inn etc. We're traveling through TX, LA, AL, MS and FL (deep south mostly) so I think it might be even harder to find smoke-free place.....
Re: Hotel chains that are smoke-free/completely non-smoking?
Do you mean smoke free as in smoking not even allowed in the parking lots or a designated smoking area? If that's the case, you may not be able to find anything fitting the description.
If you just mean that all rooms are no-smoking, 99% of chains are smoke free.

We're pretty enlightened these days, down here in the deep south ;-)
I haven't stayed in a hotel that allowed smoking in years. I think almost all chain hotels are 100% smoke free these days.
