Graco Snugride Carseat

My boss has twins that are outgrowing their carseats and she offered to give me one. Originally I was planning on getting a travel system stroller/carseat but the more I read, the more I am leaning towards using her carseat and getting the snap n' go stroller frame. Does anyone have any opinions on what I should do? Or on the carseat or stroller frame?

Re: Graco Snugride Carseat

  • I have the Snugride32 for my daughter and the Graco Snap n Go.  They work great.

Ditto except I have the double version. No complaints. It's so much lighter than a travel system. I can't imagine lugging around a huge, heavy stroller right now.

  • Can you please explain the difference between the travel system and what you have? I have been thinking of a travel system as well, it seems very convenient, from what I am thinking it is, you put your baby in the car seat , snap that into the base in the car, then take the carseat out of the car and snap it into the stroller base. is that right? Can anyone help me understand this please? Thanks!!

A travel system is the infant seat and an actual stroller. These are usually heavy and bulky. I personally did not like them for this reason, and I also did not find them easy to maneuver. A snap and go is just a frame that an infant seat snaps in to. It is light weight and small. Example link here.

When I was a nanny, I loved the snap and go because I didn't have to lug the infant seat around (it gets SO heavy!). We also had a City Mini that I loved as a full size stroller when LO was big enough to sit in it on her own.

Another option is to get just a full size stroller like the City Mini and an infant seat adapter. That way, you only ever have to buy one stroller.

  • As long as it's never been in a wreck and it hasn't hit the expiration date I think it should be fine.  I bought a Graco travel system for MIL from Target.  The stroller in the kit sucks but we got it for $100 so just the carseat was worth the price.  It gets her by in a pinch but i'd definitely get the snap-n-go frame if DS wasn't about to outgrow his carseat.
