travel system ?

Does anyone recommend a specific Graco Travel System or have any tips & advice on choosing one? We've narrowed down the brand we like to Graco, but they all seem "the same" to me. Is one any better than another?? THanks for the help

Re: travel system ?

  • I can't exactly recommend mine since it's still in the box, but I narrowed it down to Graco because of the highly rated Snugride car seat and it's price (vs. the Chicco KeyFit). Then SO and I tested the strollers at BRU to see weight and how easy it was to fold or open with one hand etc. after we had narrowed it down, we went with our preference in fabric. I do agree that they all look the same Tongue Tied but it helps to test them, see the fabrics in person, etc. we ended up going with the Alano travel system, but we didn't purchase it at BRU

  • We bought the Snugride 32. DH and I are both tall, so I wanted the couple extra inches of height over the regular Snugride (anticipating that DD is tall). Plus I liked that the straps can be adjusted from the front and that the base adjusts with a dial so it's easy to level if you switch cars.

We got the Mosaic stroller. It's lighter than the travel system strollers and folds up smaller, but is still a stroller without the carseat (as opposed to the snugrider). DH can also walk behind it easier than the travel systems without kicking it (he's 6'4).

I'm really happy with both purchases.

  • We're going with the Quattro Tour- I really like the way it folded flat (by rolling a piece of the handlebar all the way around with 2 hands), the slightly bigger wheels and good shocks will hopefully make it a smoother ride. The car seat (at least on the Canadian one) is good up to 33lbs and the stroller up to 50- so hopefully it lasts a long time.
  • I have the Graco Quattro Tour travel system with the Graco Snugride 32 seat.  I love it.  I should mention that it is the SUV of travel systems meaning it is the biggest, heaviest and widest.  it didn't bother me though.

  • We are actually going with the Chicco Cortina travel system. I know you said you were choosing Graco, but if price is the issue, you can actually get the Chicco from diapers.com with a 15% off coupon (+free shipping)for less than or the same price as the Graco Tour. :)
  • I bought a graco Deco travel system off of craigslist, but ended up re-selling the whole thing because the stroller was SOOO heavy. I now plan on just getting a snugride 35 carseat and getting the Peg Perego Si stroller. The graco carseat is compatible with the Peg Si and it's so much lighter than travel system. It will also grow with the baby and fit nicely into our 2 small cars. The graco stroller took up almost the entire trunk of my Honda Accord!!
