Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Roseola

My sweet Ella has roseola. She is covered in spots from head to toe. Of course we have family pictures scheduled on Saturday. Has anyone else's kids had this? and if so how long did the rash usually last? TIA.

  • yes DD got it when she was around 13 months old. It lasted about 5 days. Did she have a high fever? If not, it might not be Roseola.

  • It was only a few days. At least the rash doesn't make them itch at all. It'll probably be gone by saturday.
  • She ran a fever around 101, she is also teething so I just chalked it up to that. I took her to the dr on Monday and that is what she said it was. I'm just hoping that Reese doesn't get it now.

  • we had it last week and the rash was gone withing 48 hours.
  • My son had a fever of 101-103 for five days then as soon as his fever broke he got the rash. The rash only lasted 1 day and it didn't bother him at all.

I mainly lurk on here, but this is the EXACT same thing that happened with DD.  But if you have another LO in the house, chances are, they'll get it too because it is pretty contagious.  But I also chalked it up to teething at first too - and it so wasn't.
