Hi ladies. I was hoping that I could get info from those of you that have the sprint everything plan. They claim that you can get unlimited mobile to mobile, texts, internet, pictures, etc. for $69.99 plus taxes. I have been wanting to make the transition from just a phone with no bells and whistles to a plan that included internet, texts, etc. I just wanted to see if there really weren't any other monthly charges that get tacked on to this plan that ends up drastically increasing the price per month. Can anyone tell me what the total with taxes and fees comes out to be? Also- what exactly can you do on the internet on your phone? (I'm clueless here so please excuse me for the questions). Can you look at tv shows or movies on different websites like you can on your computer?
I would appreciate any information you can offer this mom who is still stuck on using a cell phone just to make phone calls.
Thanks
mel
Re: Question about Sprint and the everything plan.
We have the Sprint Everything plan. We have 3 additional lines ($50 additional on our bill) and we all share 1500 anytime minutes. We've never gone over our minutes and mobile to mobile really is included.
DH and I have Blackberries and use them to access Facebook, ESPN mobile (him) and I get on the Nest as examples of what we use the internet for. We also have multiple email addresses sent to our phones, and I believe that uses the internet.
Our bill is drastically different than what yours would be because of our extra lines and an employer discount etc that we have, so I couldn't tell you what the taxes would be, but they would be standard regardless of what carrier you use.
like pp said what you can do on your phone internet wise will depend ont he phone, but we have this plan and I pay 67.06 (25% off employee discount)...so add 25% and that's what your bill would be.
but it is truly everything...no extra charges etc.
it really does include everything... the only extra charge you might have is if you choose one of the newer 4G phones.
i can't give you an exact amount either, but to give you an idea:
we have 5 lines on the everything plan (4 of which are EVO's, so an extra $10 per phone and 2 of which have the $7 insurance), and after taxes and my 28% corporate discount my bill is $247.
also, we share 1500 land line minutes and don't come anywhere near using them all.
as for using the internet, like pp said, it depends what kind of phone you have. i have an EVO and use it a lot... pretty much like browsing on a regular computer except i can't post on the nest! i can read, but not post!
I just switched to Virgin Mobile a couple months ago. I wanted to throw that out as an option because it actually uses Sprint's network, so the coverage and reception is exactly the same. It's a no contract phone, but it's not a typical go-phone type situation, for a monthly fee you get a set amount of minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. But the minutes do expire at the end of the month like a regular contract type phone.
My plan is for 1200 minutes, unlimited text, unlimited web. It cost $40 per month. With taxes it's $43 and change.
The downsides: there is no free mobile to mobile or nights and weekends, and you have to buy your phone. I got an LG Rumor Touch for $150. The screen is a lot bigger than a blackberry, but smaller than an iphone and since it has a touch screen it feels kind of like an iphone knockoff IMO.
What can you do online with a phone... If you can look at tv shows or movies I haven't figured out how, so far I can't see any video, but that's probably just me. But I can check my yahoo email, my gmail, read the newspaper, cnn, the bump/nest and even post a question or reply. I can check traffic, I can log into my bank account and check balance or pay a bill. I can look up the location of the nearest Sonic or a branch of my bank. I can get directions to a friend's house. I can pull up Hobby Lobby's weekly coupon and just show the cashier the coupon on my phone and get the discount!
DH has a smaller plan with only 300 minutes for $25/mo. There's a bigger one with unlimited minutes that is $60, so still cheaper than the sprint everything plan.
Oh, and while you can buy it online you can also go buy a phone at a sprint store or bestbuy.
