Nurseries and Baby Gear

strollers and Crib ?'s

Does anyone have any opinions on the Orbitz or Teutonia stroller..I am torn between the two and I am not sure which one to go with.  I am also not sure if I should go with the Natart Chelsea nursery furniture or the Capretti Toscana furniture...does anyone have these..good or bad?  Too many options, I am so confused.

Re: strollers and Crib ?'s

  • I don't know either of those furniture companies and I personally like the Teutonia better then the Orbit stroller. I never really looked at the Orbit cause I though it was a little bulky and overpriced in my opinion. We looked at the Teutonia inititally but ended up getting the Uppababy.

  • My parents got us the Orbit and even though the baby is not here yet, we love it. It folds super easily (one click), the car seat is safe as safe can get (compares to Britax), and it's not heavy or bulky at all in my opinion. I am very tiny (pre preg I was around 90 lbs) and it works out fine for me. Very compact once folded and the stroller base is not heavy. We were big on car seat safety and this seems to be one of the safest car seats out there!! The design/ structure of the car seat impressed us a lot, not to mention the technology behind the rotating aspect. I am just glad I can put the baby in and just rotate the seat backwards. I plan on keeping her RF for as long as I can so this is a great feature for us. I like all the extras that come with the car seat, it looks so comfy (cocoon like), the materials it's made of, the sunshade and papparazi shield. Consumer report had some drama with its review on it, but that was stupid and they did not want to admit their mistake. Fact is, do your own research and you will see that it's a great seat (hubby is doing his phd in engineering so he investigated it a lot)! My parents also got us the bassinet too, which is a nice extra. Most of my friends have the orbit system and I am yet to hear a complaint.

I am also looking at the stokke xplory for a second stroller for the Babysitter's place. I like that it's high so the baby is closer to her when they are walking, and also that it comes with the seat and bassinet (wasn't interested in a car seat since  she won't be driven around there). Looking at the Uppa Baby but lots of reviews said that they have received defective parts initially and while they have good customer service, you have to call them up to get it replaced. It would be fine for me to do that if I were the primary user of the stroller but my babysitter will be using it, so I don't want to cause her too much trouble. Didn't really like the Teutonia stroller that much looking at it. Will have a look at the Bugaboo Frog and Cameleon but would rather the UppaBaby just because it's more compact, and comes with an actual bassinet and not a convertible makeshift one lol.
