How many cans of formula per month?

With twins how many cans of formula per month do you go through for the newborn to 3 month stage?

Re: How many cans of formula per month?

  • When we took the girls home, the doc said that a baby will typically go through about a can every 3 days, or about 10 cans per month - per child.  We found this to be pretty accurate.

  • Well we use the large Costco cans, so I know that has more in it than the typical can. And I would guess that right now (2 months old) we go through 10-14 cans a month for both kids.

That's a good point!  It definately depends on the size of the can.  I'm refering to the standard size Similac can, which is 12.4 oz.  I just noticed on the back of the can that each one makes 90 oz of formula. Say the are eating 3 oz every 3 hours that's 24 oz of formula each per day for each of them, that means they will go through a can in about a day and a half.

We use Neosure for one baby and Similac advance or enfamil (whatever we can get cheaper) fr the other.  These numbers are pretty accurate - give or take a little bit.

This - we go thru the standard can in about a day and half.  The large costco similac tubs (not available right now) used to last me about 4 days with twins.
