Gerber Good Start Users Please come in!

My DD has been eating mostly BM & we had a hard time finding a formula that agreed with her.  She's been getting Enfamil Gentalease & its been ok.  But she likes to poop daily & FF'ing (even with BM) she goes every 3 to 4 days & I feel bad for her because starting on day 2 she seems uncomfortable.

I was thinking about trying Gerber Good Start Gentle Plus.  It says it has probiotic in it & I'm pretty sure the enfamil getalease doesn't.  I thought the probiotic might help make her more comfortable.

I'm wondering...

1. How do you like Gerber Gentle Plus?

2. DId you switch from another brand & see a difference?

Grace has been on Enfamil Lipil and Gentalease and Similac Sensitive. We switched her to Good Start about 4 weeks ago. Out of all the formula she has been on, Good Start Gentle Plus is my favorite. She loves it and it mixes the nicest without any bubbles at all. Similac Sen was very foamy and gave her a lot of gas and she was miserable. Enfamil made her very constipated and gassy too. She has reflux and she is great on this formula. She is so happy and rarely gassy. On the other formulas she had Mylicon 2-3 times a day, since we switched to Good Start she hasn't had Mylicon in 3 weeks. I am not sure if it was coincidence, but as soon as we switched she started STTN. At 10 weeks she gave is an 11 hour stretch last night! I am a new fan of this formula and plan on using it for our future babies too...

I have tried all of those too!  Similac first....ame problem, now she's on the gentlease.  Its better then the similar sensitive, but she is so constipated.  And I was using tons of mylicon.  Pretty much every other feeding (so 4 to 5 times a day).

I will totally try the Gerber formula now.  Thank you!

Like you, DS's diet is mostly breast milk but we supplement with Gerber Good Start Gentle Plus and Gerber Good Start Protect Plus as sometimes I can't pump enough for his voracious appetite!  DS was MISERABLE with Enfamil and Similac - tons of gas and no poop for days (poor kid!).  He has regular bm's with Gerber Good Start and is a totally different baby.  He seems to like the taste as well.  HTH

No problem and I hope it helps. It was the worst thing in the world seeing my little girl having so many problems because of formula. The switch was well worth it. It took a few days for her poopy to be normal but it its fine now. Oh and her poops and farts smell so bad on this formula, but that is totally worth having my happy baby back again. I've gotten used to it now. It's nice that the gas is finally coming out, with the other formulas her little belly would make popping noises all day long, but nothing would come out. We were going through Mylicon so fast it was crazy! I haven't even bought it in over a month now! Good luck... hope it helps you too.

Thank you!  I'm going to go get this today!  I was hoping to hear responses like this because I can not stand seeing her unhappy for another day!!!!

We just Kaylee on Good Start Gentle yesterday (on her 3 week old bday!)  I was having a hard time breastfeeding & pediatrician could tell it was stressing me out!  So she suggested the Good Start & I was leary at first, especially since doc said to just switch right over, not to transition her to the formula.  We had just very minor issues yesterday but today things seem great!  With breastmilk she was getting 2.5oz (I was pumping and giving it to her in a bottle) so when we switched to formula we continued to give her 2.5oz.  She spit up the first two bottles when I realized...  maybe I should give a little less.  So the rest of the day we just gave her 2oz.  Of course it meant more frequent feedings last night which makes me overtired today!!!  But all day today I have been giving her the 2.5oz and there hasnt been any spit up!!  She still gets fussy after her bottle, I think she just has tummy ache issues  : (

We have only used gerber good start since we started supplementing. I like how it mixes well and doesn't have a ton of bubbles. DS switches well betweemn the BM and this formula.

 I'm convinced. I'm going to take the Parents Choice version of the Enfamil Gentle stuff back tonight and get the Gerber.

Glad I could help and I really hope it works for you!!! The change in my baby girl is unbelievable and it happened after the very first day we started Good Start.
