Today is lo 2 month check up, heard there was a ton of shots and some drink. Was it bad? Did lo get a fever afterwards? I am not looking forward to it.
I am trying to remember 2 month shots, I believe DS had to have 3. I'm not sure what you mean by "drink", but DS has never had to drink anything before. DS did not get a fever afterwards, but he was a bit fussy and then he got very sleepy. The actual shots part was not that bad, I cried more than he did.
They were actually not bad at all. There were maybe 3 shots like most appts and that was it. Cora didn't get a fever and slept alot. I ususally give Cora some tylonol right after the shots and that helps with the pain/fussiness.
LO got the liquid vacc, one shot in one thigh and 2 in the other. She made major sad face and whimpered. If you BF put her right on to soothe otherwise bring a bottle. She nursed for 10 min and calmed right down. Her thighs were a little sensitive to touch. No tylenol. My pedi said to only give is she ran a fever.
i'm not going to lie to you, my daughter screamed her head off. it was almost comical because the dr stuck her wth the needle and there was a moment where my LO was totally calm and quiet and i thought "well that wasn't so ba--" and then suddenly her face twisted up and she started screeeeeaming. the poor thing. we brought a bottle for her, but she wasn't interested. she cried in our arms for a little while and the screaming turned to these sad pathetic little whimpers and then absolute silence. then she was quiet-alert for a little while and then passed out. the rest of the weekend, she was a bit fussy and needed tylenol.
it stinks watching your kid be upset, but remember it's only temporary. be strong, mama, that's what your baby needs you for. and also, there's no feeling like when your LO finally calms down in your arms.
