baby oil on wipes?

is this okay?  I know I've heard tea tree oil.  I don't have any right now and just want something to make the wipes a little smoother on DS's sorta red bum.

wdyt?

Re: baby oil on wipes?

  • Almost all the "recipes" for wipes I've seen say to add a little baby oil or various other types of oil to help glide the wipe along the skin.  I haven't been using any though.  I may try some in my next batch though.

  • Yep. I use a 2L bottle and mix 1/2c baby oil, 1/2c baby wash, 10-12 drops of tea tree oil (got it at Bath and Body Works). Then I fill the bottle to the top with warm water...well, I leave a little bit of room for mixing the solution before pouring. Then my solution is made up for a couple of weeks, I just have to pour it over my wipes in the warmer. Also, to make it super easy I marked the 1/2c level for oil, 1c level (for oil + baby wash). When it comes time to make my solution all I have to do is put in the oil up to the first line, then the baby wash up to the second line, add the TTO and then the warm water. No measuring needed anymore! Smile

this is a great idea and something I always think of as I'm making the solution every other day but then forget about as soon as I walk away from the changing table....

Ah, yes...no one ever mentions that "pregnancy brain" lasts well after the pregnancy. LOL!
