DS is too big for his infant tub, but still not a good enough sitter for a sink/bathtub bath. DD is a shower taker and I'm contemplating putting DS in the shower with her in the Bumbo. WDYT? FWIW, it's a walk in shower with a handle, so I can control how wet he gets.
Re: Are Bumbos waterproof?
Lurking...
in my experience (with the triplets I used to nanny) they were waterproof, but do float in the bathtub. I think they would be fine in the shower though, just don't try it in the tub lol. Even with 20 lbs of baby in them they still manage to rise to the top of the water...
you can do that as long as you're not filling a bath for the bumbo to sit in... it floats.
Or you can spend $5 at Target and get this for the kitchen sink. I put it in the sink so my DD can lay back while propped up on the side of a sink... reclined if you will. It works great, it's soft, and you use less water than putting LO in a big tub or shower.

While this is a nice idea, the bumbo says specifically on the side to not use in the bath/shower.
ETA: How about something like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dream-Baby-Deluxe-Bath-Seat/13213087
We just got this seat because LO outgrew his infant tub. So far we LOVE it. I like the fact that the front opens up to get him in and out easier.
and as for the bumbo, it floats in the tub (we used it in the kiddie pool over the summer with me holding onto it at all times). I would just invest in an actual tub seat, especially if you will continue to use it as LO gets bigger.
