Crockpot Cooking Question

I have a recipe for pork chops that go in the crockpot.  The recipe says to brown the pork chops in a skillet before putting in the crockpot.  I'd really like to make this tomorrow but won't have time to brown them.  Can I skip that step or will it cause a problem with the meat?

Re: Crockpot Cooking Question

  • I'm not sure about this but I thought that you were supposed to brown if you were going to eat them as pork chops, rather than like pulled pork. You know what I mean, maybe the browning park keeps it from falling apart. Not positive about this though. If the recipe calls for you to shred the pork afterwards, then I would not worry about it at all.
