So, my husband and I just moved into our first house about a month ago. (Dont worry, I didnt lift anything too heavy!) About a week before moving in I called the Hawaiian Electric Company to set up an account, and I was under the impression that that is what I did! (Especially since the call ended with "thank you, you should be getting your first bill in about a month!") Well just now a woman came to my house, from Hawaiian Electric, saying that we need to set up an account and that we are being charged extra fees for not doing so ahead of time... WHAT?!?! I told her that I had set up the account and she just gave me that "yeah right" look and walked away! I dont remember the name of the person I talked to on the phone, just the date. AND! When I called them a few minutes ago to find out whats going on, there is a 1-1.5 hour wait to talk to someone!! What the crap!? Now I am all extra-hormonal/in a preggo rage and cant seem to calm down! Any suggestions gals? I'm afraid I will lose my cool and scream at someone when I eventually get ahold of them...

Good to hear it's all cleared up now and it was just a mistake on their part!
FYI, a lot of the ladies on this board don't live in HI but were married there (or DW elsewhere), from there, wish they lived there, or just like the board so a lot of us may not have much advice to offer on local recs/issues, but there are a handful of HI ladies who actually live there that can help
