This is my first post here and I have been lurking a bit lately. So I have a 13 month old daughter who for the last almost 6 weeks has stopped sleeping through the night. It started with the lovely stomach bug that was going around, then the cold all the kids had in day care to now ear infection #6! She always ends up in bed with us and DH and I have had it. We dont sleep well when she is with us and we both have to work the next day.
We were up ALL night last night; I dont know how I am functioning right now. I had tossed around the idea of reading the no cry sleep solution for toddlers book. Last week I downloaded the sample to my Nook and never got to read it, but after last night I downloaded the book and have been skimming through it and the website.
Since I am just starting this out, if you have done this to help your child sleep through the night and fall asleep on their own, what did you do that has worked? Is the book more of a way to better understand sleep and your child's sleep behaviors/patterns? This is basically a guide to figure out what works best for us?
We are at wits end...
Re: Has anyone read the No-cry Sleep Solution books?
i read the baby one but i also need to grab the toddler version now.
try posting this on the Attachment Parenting board too, quite a few people on there seem to like this book and you might get more ideas. g/l - we've never had a good sleeper so i feel your pain!
We tried Ferber and NCSS and neither worked for us. Chrys posted this link a few weeks ago and has done it with her son. We already transitioned from the shared bed and she is in her own room (she was still waking at least 3 times after going to bed), but still followed the principles, it has been an amazing 3 weeks!!! She goes to bed at 8 and is up at 6 when I feed her and she goes back down until 8 or 8:30.
