anyone start wearing maternity pants/jeans at 7 weeks?

I am just 7 weeks now and in the last two days it feels as though none of my regular jeans want to fit anymore. I have been doing the bella band or the rubber band trick on my jeans for two weeks, but now they are getting super uncomfortable. I wanted to buy a few pair of jeans that are a size or two larger but now I am wondering if I should just go right to the half panel maternity jeans. I just want to be comfortable.

What did you do?

  • I bought maternity pants..I just figured I don't want to buy new jeans that I'll just have to replace soon with maternity jeans anyway.  And I'm sooooo glad I did..It's like wearing sweatpants all day :)

  • I'm only 5 weeks right now.    I teach preschool so I wear lots of pants with elastic waists anyway since they are a lot more comfy when working on the floor or sitting in little kid chairs!!!!!

At 9 weeks with PG#1, I had purchased 2 pairs of maternity capris to wear while on vacation.    They were a little big but oh so comfy!   I actually just packed away some  of my regular pants with buttons and zippers and started washing my old maternity pants since I know I'm going to need them soon.

this. No one can tell. :o)
This is a test. This is only a test.

I've been wearing them since late last week.  I bought Gap's perfect fit maternity pants for work (demi panel), and Old navy bootcut jeans (demi panel) in my regular size, and they're a little big.  I belted them this weekend.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste the money on non-pg clothes when you're only going to get another 1-2 months out of them.  Maternity pants are crazy comfy.

  • I really want to- all my pants make me more naseus because of the pressure they put on my stomach. I've been wearing a lot of skirts.

My problem is I live in a city of  86,000 people and the nearest store that sells maternity clothes is an hour drive away. I'm going to visit some friends this weekend and will be buying some then.

I started wearing maternity pants at 9 weeks for this very reason!!! I thought I was going to throw up after I ate and had my normal jeans buttoned!

That really sucks that you live so far away from a maternity store, good luck finding some good items with your firend :)

  • I bought maternity jeans a couple weeks ago. I need to buy maternity work pants but haven't yet. You should just go out and buy them, they are so comfy you won't want to wear anything else!

  • I have one pair of "under the belly" maternity jeans with an adjustable elastic waist (they're old navy). I was in them from week 6-9, and then last week the bloat finally left so I'm back in my regular pants for a bit.

    Wear what is comfortable.

  • I started wearing them at 8 weeks because I just wasn't comfortable anymore trying to squeeze my bloat into pre-pregnancy jeans.
  • Funny you mention this, I just started looking at Old Navy maternity pants online last night. Too bad the roll panel one isn't available my size. Someone mentioned Goodwill. I might check there instead.

  • Oh yeah, I bought two pairs at 8 weeks as my old jeans and work pants were starting to get a little uncomfortable. Best decision I've made.

  • I have been looking for maternity jeans because none of my regular jeans fit either. I haven't been able to find any that I really like though. I have only been to Ross and Target though. I bought some yoga pants from Old Navy, and I have been rockin those for like 2 weeks, and also dresses...I am planning on looking at some maternity stores this weekend.
  • For my first 2 pregnancies, it worked out for me to just buy a couple of pair of work pants in a size or 2 bigger. I bought some cheap ones from old navy and wore them until about week 16. It helped because after delivering my dc, when I was not back to my normal size yet and I didn't want to wear maternity clothes, I had some options..

  • I'm not wearing maternity yet... my pants still fit, but they're pushing the limits... I was already gaining weight before I found out I was preggers, so they were getting tighter and now they're just plain tight... I found some pants at NY&Company last weekend that have an elastic waist. I'm wearing them to work. They're a cotton blend and are a casual dress sort of pant. I wear them with sweaters and they're cute. I got a size bigger than what 'fit' so I'd have "room to grow" and I think I'm going to go get another pair this weekend! I think they were only 20.00 and if you have AAA, you get a 10% discount, too!
