Mirena users: When in ur cycle was it inserted?

My Dr. advised I should get my IUD inserted as close to the end of my cycle as possible, did anyone else have to do this? I dont think I will be able to because he only does it on mondays at 4pm (wtf?) and that doesnt work with my cycle lolol. That sounds funny. Im kinda postponing it because Im really nervous to get it!

Mine was inserted at my 6 week pp appointment so I hadn't had a cycle, and still have yet to have one.  Don't be nervous it was a little uncomfortable but nothing worse than a regular pap, and there was some cramping and spotting for about 3 days, other than that it has been amazing!!  I am a horrible pill taker and the Mirena fixed that for me!!

I just got mine in last week.  I haven't had a pp period yet, so I'm not sure when "in my cycle" it was.  I think you can have it in at any time, it's just effective sooner if you start it on the first day of your period.

I don't remember how far into my cycle I was. I don't think it really matters. It was a little uncomfortable to put it, but nothing really painful.. Also I cramped and spotted almost every day for the first 2 months within insertion.  Also I do have to say, I still get my period and it lasts longer than usual, which really sucks. It's probably not the typical, but it's what I've experienced.
