going for another u/s tomorrow

i'm kind of freaking out b/c my MW said i'm measuring small and i don't feel much movement, so they want to check everything out.  she also said it's totally possible my baby is just small and not very active, but the fact they're sending me has me worried.  on the other hand, i can't lie, i'm kind of excited to get to see her again.  i just hope they tell me everything is ok.

is there anyone else who's not feeling much movement?  like, i can go for days without feeling anything.  and even when i do, it's not strong kicks or anything.

Re: going for another u/s tomorrow

  • DS has definitely slowed down in the last few weeks.  I have growth ultrasounds every four weeks and despite the slower responses, he's still growing on target.  Good luck tomorrow.  Try to enjoy it and get a good peek :)

  • It could just be the position of the baby or the placenta.  And some babies are just smaller.  Good luck tomorrow.  I hope everything is perfect.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • Good luck tomorrow girly. I'll be thinking of you because I've got an ultrasound tomorrow too!

  • I measured behind almost my entire pregnancy with DD.  The last month they did an ultrasound every week to check on her development.  When she was born she was measuring 36 weeks (I had an ultrasound that morning) even though they induced me because they told me I was 40 weeks gestation.  At my appointment last week they told me I'm measuring 2 weeks behind.  So I think it's just become a habit for me :)  I have small babies.  I remember with DD that her movements did slow down a lot.  I think it was more because she was small and I could not feel her moving not that she was not moving.

I'm praying that everything is fine with your LO and  please keep us updated.

  • They are concerned about my baby's growth as well.  at my 20w u/s I was at 30% and 4 weeks later I was at 13% so they have put me on a super high protein diet 100g a day (which is a ton when you try and do it)  and told me to limit activity so that I'm not burning up calories and the baby gets them all. They are worried that the placenta is not giving my baby enough blood and oxygen.

I do feel him kick and move around all the time but honestly I think that movement varies from person to person as to how much they feel.

  • I am around the same week mark as you, and I can go a day or two without feeling much movement. My doctor told me not to expect solid movement until around 30 weeks. She said it is different for everyone, and based on my size she is suggesting me not to do kick counts until about 30 weeks.

I hope everything goes well!! Let us know!

  • thanks everyone.  it makes me feel better knowing i'm not the only one.  it's so scary, but nice to know it can be completely normal.  i was telling my mom how scary it is to be pregnant b/c you worry about everything, and she told me that never goes away, she still worries about all of us.  thanks, mom.
