Hi guys. I'm new around here. I remember some of your names from back when I was planning my wedding 5 years ago. Wow time flies! We are expecting our first. My husband and I are both teachers and unfortunately will have to put our new addition in day care around 2 months old.
Does anyone have any suggestions for inner loop daycares / schools that take babies as young as 8 weeks?
Also, how early should we start talking to them / getting on a waiting list? I really have no clue.
Thanks,
Courtney and poppyseed
Re: daycare that takes infants (inside the loop)
I know Creme de la Creme downtown does. (It is pricey.)
Best thing to do is search by zip codes (77008, Heights; 77002, Downtown, etc.) on the DFPS site that lists daycares and their inspections:

Narrow it down, and then set up visits. Most people visit and decide on what feels right for their family. Then, you decide to be on the wait list. For most, there is a deposit associated with the wait list.
We ended up at Creme because we started late. They could get us a spot without a lot of mystery and checking back constantly. We planned to move somewhere less expensive, but decided they suited us and the location was too good for us.
You'll find a good fit for your family, too. And, if you choose and find it isn't right, you can move.
Good luck!
Kipling Street Academy. it is where we go.
Get on the list now.
The YMCA in the medical center. It is also one of the most affordable daycares inside the loop.
