I like that name a lot... for a boy.  There are other cute month names that are great for a girl- June, April, May.  Don't use one of the few months that are very masculine sounding.

I know a woman in her 30s named August. I don't really like days/months/seasons as names, though..

I knew this was going to be about a girl. Dang it anyway.

I love the name August, but for a boy. It's our number one boy name, and to hear that it could be used for a girl really sucks for us boy namers. The post below has some good points, and unless it's a family name or you're a celebrity with no sense of names, please leave it as a boy name.

Any chance you like Augusta, Augustine or Augustina?
