There was a thread about this a day or two ago that got a good number of responses: Link here. The Ergo was mentioned a lot, but like you, I prefer something that will allow the baby to face forward. (I was a nanny for a while so that's where I've experienced using one in case my siggy confuses anyone .)
I like the Pikkolo, though I don't see it mentioned very often on this board. Also, the Beco Gemini is nice and I see it pop up occasionally on here.
My sil is making me a Mai Tai. I also have a sling that I will be using, I know a few people that love their Ergo. I read this and thought it was pretty good. Gave alot of good info but I will still use a stroller or car seat but plan to wear the baby alot since I also have an older child.
Our Beco Gemini just arrived this week and I love it so far. It's not great for babies to be forward too much because it can be overstimulating to them, but I do like the option, especially for doing things like going to the zoo or out to dinner or just doing things around the house.
