One last FFFC for me...

MIL watches DS on Fridays.  Today she shows up with 4-5 grocery bags full of food DS eats: fruits, pasta, frozen veggies, applesauce, etc.  All she said she she walked in was "I picked up a few things for E while at the store."  I'm sure she bought it just to be nice but I can't help but feel like she thinks we don't feed him good enough.  That or she thinks we don't have money to buy him food???  I just don't understand or believe her motive.

  • Maybe she was just trying to be nice?  Does she have a history of passive aggressive behavior? If so, I could see why it would bother you.

  • I don't know your relationship with your MIL, but I would be thrilled!
  • I'd be happy, but I don't know your history with MIL.

Definitely passive aggressive.  She told DH she wants to buy me a vacuum for my bday so DH won't get sick from the dog hair.  How sweet of her!

I should add that I am thrilled that I won't have to buy all the food myself but I just can't shake the feeling she has some other motive.

Is she under the impression that you are the only person in your house that can vacuum?

  • My MIL is the same way, but every now and then when she orders Market Day stuff, she gets stuff for us too and I still get excited about it, lol.  I realize she thinks that all I know how to do is defrost and heat, and that I don't feed my family... but I know that isn't true, so the joke's on her!  Stick out tongue
