I was thinking about your post in the check in and I could tell how frustrated you are. I wanted to throw out some totally unsolicited suggestions so feel free to stop reading or ignore me completely.

I get what you are saying about eating healthfully and then having a bunch of points left so then you eat junk. But have you thought about getting those extra points while essentially eating the same things you are now? If you eat a higher points value food now and as you lose you can trade it in for a lower points value of the same food item. That way you are still eating well and when you lose the points and have to take away food you aren't feeling deprived. For example for breakfast you could have cereal with 1 or 2 percent milk and then when you lose points change your milk to skim. Or use real eggs for now and change to eggbeaters or egg whites when you lose points. Or with dinner add a piece of french bread for 3 or 4 points and then when you lose points you simply stop adding the bread to your meal.  For ground beef you could use a 90% lean beef right now and then go to a progressively leaner beef as you lose points.

Anyway, just wanted to pass along what had been on my mind. I hate to hear you sound so discouraged. Sorry if I've overstepped my bounds. Good luck and I hope to see you at the check in next week!

  • Not overstepping at all. I am, for the most part, doing that. Except I'm essentially a vegan. I don't eat any meat or eggs. I will occasionally eat foods with dairy products in them if I'm out with friends and there aren't any other menu options available that I can have, but I try to avoid doing that as much as possible because I have a mild dairy allergy. And I don't eat bread. See why I'm frustrated? Lol! I'm working on a menu plan for the next two weeks, so as soon as I come up with that, I'll respond again and see if you guys have any other ideas because I'm stumped. I do full fat salad dressings and almond butter and juice when I drink it. But I'm still having trouble eating 40 points. Anyway..yeah. Just wanted to respond and let you know that I'm not ignoring you and you're not overstepping at all. I'm stuck right now, so I am open to anything. I'll respond again shortly. Smile
