Crotch pain

Not the loveliest of post titles, but what else do you call it?  Anyone else having this annoyance?  I get it a lot at night - I don't know if it has to do with my hips and lying on my side all night, but when I have to get up to go to the bathroom, I have to sit there for a minute to let the pain pass.  It's hard to describe - right in the middle, so I don't think it's RLP (isn't that on the sides?), and it's not cramping pain at all... just aching.  I guess it's part of the joy of pregnancy, just wanted to see if anyone else had this too?

  • I get it too!  Feels like and aching pressure on my crotch and my tail bone.  I find that sitting on a balance ball relieves the pressure and helps quite a bit.

  • Yes I have experienced this pain..unfortunately! It seems right now that I am having serious aches and pains everywhere below my mid-back...it is ridiculous.

  • My Dr told me that it was RLP, but my dr is also an idiot.
  • So I haven't had this pain yet (fingers crossed that i don't) but when I went into my dr's appt today, they explained how my pubic bone was going to start separating, and making room for baby, along with more pain in my back ect. So I know this isn't really an answer but my guess is that it could be your bones loosening and moving around.

I swear, why didn't anyone tell us about all of this crap before we got pregnant? Is it somewhere in the code that we can't talk about the bad stuff to anyone not in the "club"?

I have a friend who, now that I'm pregnant, tells me about this stuff.... there should be no holds barred when women ask about pregnancy.

this would be my guess too, everything is opening up stretching etc so yeah our bones will be hurting, i told my mom and she said my SIL experienced this too so at least at that point i knew it was normal, the thing is that when you have back pain you can massage it but how are you going to massage your crotch? haha

It's funny.  There are a lot of people who don't want to know all the gory/weird stuff that happens while you're pregnant.  I'm usually willing to tell anyone who asks what my experiences were - I felt like there was a ton of stuff I wasn't adequately warned about.
  • I get this! Especially if I've been sitting for a period of time or when I wake up at night to use the bathroom(that's when it hurts the most and plus a full bladder-ugh). I keep telling myself these aches and pains will go away after all this is over with...we can hope.

  • I have been having this since 14-15 weeks along. I get it worse if I'm sitting for a long time then go to walk. I'm trying to keep my self busy at home so I'm just not sitting but chasing a 3 year old day and she hardly sleeps (up a few times at night and wakes at 6am) I'm tired and need the break.

I wanted to know, to a certain degree- but the only things my mommy-coworkers would really talk about was how horrible labor was. I WISH they would have warned me about the boob-tenderness, the hips pain from hell, the midnight leg cramps, RLP, constipation... things I would like to have been mentally prepared for!

  • I was having a really weird bruised type feeling in my pubis mons (had to go through a lot of google searching to find the exact spot). When I spoke to my doctor about it she said it is more than likely due to the pubic bone spreading. A few weeks ago I felt it all day, every day but now it's only at night when I get up to go to the bathroom or when I am getting dressed.

  • I know I'm late to this conversation but am SOOO happy I caught this post - I've had this. Had no idea how to describe it. And the whole bones spreading thing makes TONS of sense!
