Would you throw out everything or just all dairy, meat, and anything with mayo or eggs in it (salad dressings)?
We have had so many issues with our fridge not working in this rental house. We have had 4 repair appointments. The guy today figured out quicly what was wrong. Apparently, our fridge has not been cooling for 10 months+ and the door is about to fall off. It's way above the normal temp.
Now I know why I felt like our house was making us all sick. I thought our food was going bad quickly too.
Our landlord is being a jackass and not wanting to fix the fridge because we are moving out soon. I don't think he knows who is messing with.
Re: What foods to throw out if fridge is not cooling? Vent too!!
Our fridge just broke this week, so I feel your pain. Our new part will be here next week. Today DH threw out everything (and recycled the glass/plastic containers) and cleaned out the fridge and freezer. We tossed EVERYTHING that didn't make it into the coolers we got when we first realized the fridge wasn't cooling. I would toss everything.
We did manage to save most of the breast milk and put it in a neighbor's freezer, but as soon as I can build up a new stash, I am tossing that too. I don't think it is bad and am keeping it for if something happens to me and LO needs it, but I would rather not use it just to be safe.
