Welcome, ladies, to the Expecting a Sibling Weekly Check-In! I will try to post this check-in each Friday morning - afternoon, so be looking for it! I'll also try to repost this around Saturday-Sunday so that others can add to our thread. If you'd like you can also put the date of your next checkup or u/s and I'll add next to your name so that we can send good thoughts your way on that particular day.

QOTD: My oldest boy is getting excited. He keeps telling everyone the order of things until his baby sister will be born... "Halloween, daddy's birthday, Thanksgiving, my brother's birthday, Christmas, and then my baby girl will come!!" It's pretty darn cute.

General QOTD: How has your week been? It's been a mellow week. DH surprised me by taking an extra night off this week so I could have a bit of much needed down time. I have been crampy a lot this week, though, so I'll be interested to see what my OB has to say about that when I go in on Monday.
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a sibling? I'm not sure if DS really gets it at all. He's only going to be 2 next month so it seems kind of over his head. I'm starting to worry how it will impact him, though. He's so used to being the center of our world. We'll see.
My week has been ok! I have started having some bad pack and tail bone pains! My ribs are killing me. Other then that, I am just great!
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think
your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a
sibling?
Yes, my DD is so excited! She talks to my belly on a daily basis saying, "Hello Brother" or "Time to wake up brother!". It's quite cute actually! I love it!
Hi, AppleMomma and other EAS mommies! I have been MIA for a long time because things got pretty crazy around here. Either things have calmed down or I just don't care any more, so I'm back on TB!
General QOTD: How has your week been? It's been a bit annoying because we're trying to train our dog to be less stressed at home. He's a crazy high-strung dog and it's only gotten worse since DS was born, so I am attached to him by a 6-ft leash at all time right now. It allows me to correct his behavior whenever he does something wrong, but being pregnant and chasing a toddler while dragging a 54-lb dog around is tiring!
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a sibling? I still feel so far off from 3rd tri... But my c-section is 3 months and 2 days away... DS is way too young to understand anything going on. He does recognize that I've got a big belly now so he likes to lift my shirt up a little while I'm sitting on the couch and tickle my belly button. He's always sure to pull my shirt back down when he's done. It's pretty stinkin cute...
I had ultrasounds at 18 and 20 weeks and they both showed partial placenta previa, so my first u/s recheck of placental position is on Tuesday. I'm hoping it's up and out of the way so I can be done with pelvic rest...
General QOTD: How has your week been? - Busy & tiring for sure.
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a sibling? - I know DS senses something but he's too young to realize he's not going to be the only little person in the house.
very busy! And now that I have NSTs once a week and my ds is starting speech therapy once a week I'm going to be even busier..
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think
your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a
sibling?
I think ds is too young to really understand, he does like to lift up my shirt and hug my belly though. I'll just pretend he's doing it because he wants to meet his sister.
GQOTD: hasn't been bad, son and neice got along pretty well, had a dentist app, and oldest had no cavities and youngest had first check up and was really good about it. BUT he has 2 cavities and we have to go back next week. I had my appointment, so I am good to go for a few weeks. And H SHOULD be back to work next week, so I am counting down the days until his app. on monday.
QOTD: my youngest has been really clingy lately, and has had 2 bad dreams in the last week about losing me. One was I died, and one was that I was lost. I think he feels that this baby means that he is going to lose me somehow. I am going to have about 4 weeks that it is just going to be the 2 of us during the day, so I hope to spend some special time with him. Oldest knows what is going on, and is pretty laid back about it. I am trying to keep him in on everything so he feels more like an equal with me and H instead just standing on the sidelines, waiting for something to happen.
General- To be honest kinda crappy, lol. But every year October is a crappy month due to work. I overbook myself and just pull myself too thin. It'll get better after next weekend.
QOTD: She's starting to grasp it a little more. Whenever she sees an adult female she calls them a mama and will stick out her tummy and pat it, lol. She has also started calling my tummy "sissy" which just makes my heart melt. BUT I still don't think she knows exactly what's going to come out of me in a few short months, kwim?
General- Great week. My boss has been out of the office all week so it has been much more relaxed.
QOTD- He is too young to understand there will be a new baby. He does love the climb onto my lap, lift my shirt and rub my tummy-so cute. He gets confused when he looks at my mom's or sister's tummy and there is nothing there.

1/13/11-DD born
The last couple weeks have been crazy busy at work and home. I have been having a lot of umm I'll call it cervix pain that I'm pretty tired of.
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a sibling?
I think DS is too young to understand what a new sibling means to his world. He does give my tummy kisses when I ask him where the baby is or to give his sister kisses. He also pats my tummy and says baby which is so stinkin' adorable.

Sorry I've been MIA, I always seem to miss the check-in, and most days lately I seem to be so busy I can't find the time to get on TB!
General QOTD: How has your week been?
My week has been great! A lot of good things happened this week. My twin sister finally closed on a house about 10-15 minutes away from me (she's been an hour away for 2 years - that's way too far! LOL). And yesterday DH and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. Overall it was a great week!
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a sibling?
Even though DS is 2.5, I still think he doesn't quite understand that he's not going to be the only LO in the house anymore. We talk to him about his baby sister, and the daycare staff ask him about it, but he either doesn't care or he doesn't understand! I have actually been thinking about getting a book about it for him, so maybe he will understand a little bit better.
My LO is pretty clueless about the fact that he has a brother on the way. I think he knows SOMETHING is going on, with the new nursery being put together and my stomach getting enormous. He's been a little clingy lately so maybe he can tell!
This is my first check-in so I apologize if it's wrong:
General QOTD: How has your week been? Not bad, I'm still in the hospital. I'm not allowed to go full-term with my son but the expected delivery date now is 34 weeks (December 9th). He looks great on the heart monitor and the doctor's are very pleased that I made it to 26 weeks with ruptured membranes, they have no doubt that we'll make it further. I have US every Thursday and my AFI went from a 1.1 at 24 weeks, 3.7 at 25 weeks and 5.6 at 26 weeks!
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think
your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a
sibling? NA - first child
Bonus: Today is pregnancy/infant loss remembrance day. So be sure
to give a hugs to all the mommies you know that have lost a little one.
Jackson W. Holler born 12/9/10 at 7:52 a.m. He is my little miracle baby!! pPROM'ed at 23w1d and delivered at 34w
Good!! I just found out that my BFF is in labor with her 1st child. She is 4 centimeters and counting!! YAY!!
QOTD: As we are all approaching, or in, 3rd tri, do you think
your children sense the excitement of drawing so close to having a
sibling?
Yes, definitely... Haidyn is feeling the baby kick more and more and he's thrilled by the thought of his little brother. He keeps calling him by name (not just "the baby" anymore) and he keeps asking "how many days?!" We're all thrilled that he's excited!
