I don't know what to do and I need some CD advice. My LO was 8 lbs. 9 oz. when he was born. He was one month old yesterday and weighs 9 lbs. 14 oz. (with clothes on and a possible wet diaper on). He is very long and skinny and still wears newborn sizes (sleeves and pants are a little short). He wears 0-3 mon. in things that have feet in them.

My plan was to do the Jilians drawers trial for the 12+ lbs. So before we had him we got 2 dozen prefolds, 8 fitteds, and 3 covers. We were using sposies until his cord came off. We realized we hate the prefolds. So now we only have 8 CD in rotation (which doesn't even last 12 hrs.). So we are mostly using sposies. I didn't even want to have sposies in the beginning in our house and now it's all we are using! Should I buy some smaller CD for him to wear until he hits the 12 lbs? Or am I too late. Will I get enough use out of them now since we have waited? I would use them for our next LO's. I am going back and forth! What would you do? TIA!

DS was 8 lbs and 13 oz when he was born, and we used our nb diapers (KL0's) for a full 3 months.  That said, he has been a slow but steady grower, and every baby is different.  I'd probably buy some used, if you're comfortable with that, and then you can save them for #2 or sell.

Could you do something like this if you don't want to buy? It will hold you over till he gets to 12 lbs and all you would need to do is use your covers.

I think if I spend money on something I would want to have something in the end? I would rather buy more diapers and have something to use for the next baby. I'm looking on spots now. What are other good sites that you ladies use?

I like spots.  There's www.diaperswappers.com as well, but it's had issues with some bad viruses in the past.  I've gotten some stuff via craigslist, too - you could see if you get lucky there!

If you do the Jillian's Drawer trial I'd do the NB one still.  That gets you through he NB phase & then you can buy what you want for the post-NB phase.  Or another option is just buy OS.  They'll fit him pretty soon at the rate he is growing.
