January 2011 Moms

Scary!

(a little TMI) Earlier this afternoon I passed a large clump of bloody discharge... I called my OBs office per instructions, who told me to call L&D, and L&D said that unless I lose more fluid/ blood or start having cramping that I don't need to do anything further... I feel better that they aren't panicked but I'm still concerned. Anyone else had this or something similar happen? I really don't want to overanalyze every little thing but I don't want something important to go under the radar, you know?

Re: Scary!

  • How far along are you? I honestly wouldn't worry unless you start having major contractions....

Sounds like it could have been part of your MP.

  • I'd call the doc back and tell them what L&D said.  If your doc was worried, then there must have been something to be worried about.  I'd be worried....my books say to call immediately if you have bleeding this late in the pregnancy.
  • Hmmm...I would personally still be worried, but I worry a lot. I assume that Labor and delivery wouldn't mess around though, maybe that should give you a little relief. If you are still really concerned, you could call your OB back and see what they say. In my opinion, any type of blood would scare me.

This is what I was thinking. If you have no other symptoms then I wouldn't worry.

This, but I'd still call your dr and let him know what L&D said.

  • I passed one smallish clump of bloody mucus last night.  I freaked the fvck out, but didn't call because I felt completely fine otherwise.  Nothing has happened since so I'm trying to forget about it.

I'm with you though.  It's scary.

  • Yeah, it seemed like it could def be MP. I'm only 25 weeks along today (01/28/2011) so Baby needs to hang out on the inside for quite awhile longer!
