I am having to cut out dairy for now but is butter considered a dairy product? It's made with cream.

Cream is milk with high fat content. So yes, butter is considered dairy

they do make dairy free margarine- Fleischmann's Unsalted Margarine- and it's usually pretty easy to find at most stores.
