My mother is driving me....

Does anybody else have this problem??  My mother moved in about 2 weeks before I gave birth to my son.  I already have some uneasy feelings about this because I haven't been able to live in the same house with my mom for more than 4 days without getting into some argument as she tries to control my live.  I also moved out of my parents house right after college because I couldn't stand living under their old school Asian Traditions.

Now that my baby is two weeks old, shes again driving me crazy with her telling me to eat certain foods, telling me when and how to eat, telling me how to take care of my baby, cooking her food in our home, and then i feel like I have to make a point to bring the baby to her to hold every now and then. When I'm breast feeding, she walks in on me and asks for when i'll be done with the baby.  When I give her the baby to hold, she takes it to her room and then and when she does, she runs the baby to her room and closes the door.

Sorry to vent but its so frustrating living with her.  The only reason why I wanted her to be here was to take care of the baby when I'm back at work.  I didn't ask her to come 2 weeks prior and I NEVER have alone time with my baby.  I really want her to have come right before I went back to work.  Its frustrating the heck out of me and I'm really holding everything in me right now but I'm sure I'm about to burst.

Re: My mother is driving me....

  • I know it's frustrating, but you hardly have a leg to stand on if she moved in to be the full time care, pay-free, when you go back to work. The running to her room and closing the door with the baby is just weird. I don't really know the answer, but it's going to be hard to do while keeping her as your childcare.
  • When are you going back to work?  Do you have childcare alternatives?  I want to break out in a rash reading your post.  I could not bear that at all, for even a day.  I told my parents to wait weeks before they came (from another country) after I had my son.

I have never noticed your screen name before and I think you're a troll.  Who says "she takes it" about their own brand-new baby?  And... you sound a bit hystrionic and ridiculous to me.  I vote troll.  Or MUD.
