**Weekly Lovenox Ladies Check-in**

Hi Everyone,

Its time again for our weekly check-in.  This check-in is for anyone dealing with clotting disorders, or for anyone doing once or twice daily shots of Lovenox, Heparin, Fragmin, Arixtra, etc. (you are also welcome if you are on any other blood thinners - coumadin, aspirin, etc.)  This is a place for us to share our frustrations, worries and triumphs.  What?s new this week?  How is everyone feeling?  How are your bruises?  Any injection tips for the newbies?

In general I'm feeling pretty good. Just horribly stressed with things going on in life.

Pregnancy seems to be going super fast (at least the second trimester has flown by) though my first trimester dragged on for what felt like forever.

I would like to be added My EDD is May 4th. I am on Heparin twice daily shots for prothrombin gene mutation G20210A.

The pregnancy is actually going by much faster than I thought it would, even with vomiting every day. lol

Things seem to be going well--we had our first appointment-with-an-OB-instead-of-nurse on Tuesday and got to see the heartbeat...

 QOTW:  I couldn't really say fast vs. slow, at this point...but I keep asking DH if it can be May yet(he says "not yet").

been doing pretty good. the bruising isn't as bad. Going slow definately helps w/ the burning. at my appointment this past week I had a few ? regrading lovenox and ptl. Since I had both my boys at 34 weeks I am concerned about this happening again. I asked what would happen if i went into ptl at 34 weeks and they couldn't stop it. His was response was that I would have a c-section (which is the plan even if I go to term) but it would have to be under general anesthesia. This makes me so sad. I barely have any memories from ds#1 delivery due to being very doped up on meds and the thought of having none makes me want to cry. He said the only way I would be able to get an epi is if they are able to wait long enough for the lovenox to get out of my system but in an emergency they wouldn't be waiting.

I would like to join the board. My EDD is May 24. I will be starting twice daily Heparin shots next week plus a daily low-dose aspirin. I have Factor V Leiden and a previous PE.

Maybe you won't have to have general anesthesia!  I went into labor w/twins at 33w4d.  I was in labor for a few hours while I waited for them to do bloodwork and make sure I wasn't going to bleed too much.  No one mentioned general.  There are some meds (?) that can help reverse the effects of lovenox, but luckily I was good to go. 

Maybe you could ask to see a Peri later on if it hasn't been mentioned.  GL!

Right now things seem to be going slow.  I am tired, and each day is a little hard to get through.  Waiting for that 2nd try energy to kick in soon I hope.

Saw a hematologist yesterday, per my Peri's referral.  Peri thinks I might not be anticoagulated enough with just one dose of 40gm (Lovenox).  Now I am doing 2xday

The Hem wants my medical records from the original DVT/PE time period, and wants a u/s of my vena cava (IVC) filter.  All of it sounds like overkill to me, but my attitude kind of sucks right now.

Things are going good here with the injections. I think this pregnancy is going slow. I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and our first appt is Friday. We have never had a good first OB appt, getting to this point has seemed like forever.
