How many eggs did you have retrieved for your BFP??

I had 20 retrieved for my first 2. Both had 10 fertilize normally.  I only have one on ice (the 2nd one was successful). 

I only got 13 today and am feeling disappointed.  I know it only takes one-- but I'm still bummed.

How many did you get and how many fertilized for your BFP?

I had a large amount of eggs retrieved but had OHSS which was not fun. When we do IVF again, I am hoping for a smaller number.

# of eggs retrieved: 32 (off of my 1 ovary)

# of eggs mature: 18 (See big difference)

# of eggs ferrtilized normally: 15

# transfered: 1

# frozen: 11

That cycle was a BFN and we ended up using our 11 embies for our FET and getting Hayden from the FET. 13 sounds good to me.

3 retrieved.  (as in your retrieval but without the 1 in front of it!)

3 fertilized.

Originally conceived twins but one didn't make it.

 

I'm sure it's impossible not to compare and feel disappointed but you're after quality not quantity!!

My BFP was from an FET.  The cycle that produced the good embryo only gave me 6 eggs and 4 embryos.  Don't give up!!!

We got 16 eggs, 15 of which were mature!  I think 13 is terrific!

I had 16 retrieved, but only 4 fertilized (I'm guessing a bunch weren't mature, but they didn't record maturity since we weren't doing ICSI)

Transferred 2 on day 3 and froze the other 2.

I think 13 is a very lucky number!!

5 fertilized

2 transferred on fresh cycle, produced a singleton boy (now 25m old)

3 blasts made to day 6 freeze

3 thawed successfully, one donated, one BFN, one BFP over 2 separate sFET rounds. Now 34.5w pregnant with a second boy.

So 8 eggs produced two babies and completed my family. I'll take it

I had 4 retrieved, all 4 fertilized, 2 made it to transfer day (day 5) and one stuck.  Good luck!

9 retrieved

7 mature

6 fert with ICSI

2 made it to day 3...got PG with a single!

We only retrieved 7.  Out of those 7, only 4 fertilized.  From that, only 2 continued to grow.  We transfered those and got the boys.

13 is awesome! Our stats are as follows:

IVF#1 - 9 eggs retrieved, 6 mature, 4 fertilized, 2 transferred (the Doodles), both stuck (lost later due to prematurity but not related to IVF success).

Remaining 2 from that cycle were frozen but more as a hail Mary, they were awful quality, only one survived thaw and it didn't take on our FET.

IVF#2 - 12 retrieved, 10 mature, 10 fertilized, 1 transferred, it (Toodle!) stuck (2 more frozen on day 6).

They got 17 eggs, with 13 being mature. And then we only fertilized two of those with ICSI. It really only does take 1! Good luck honey!

Hope this makes you feel better:

IVF 1 - Retrived 4, 2 fert, 2 transferred, BFN

IVF 2 - Retrived 7, 7 fert, 2 transferred, 2 frozen, BFN

FET - did not survive thaw

IVF3 - Retrieved 23, 17 fert, 2 transferred, c/p

IVF4 - Retrived 4, 4 fert, 3 transferred, 1 frozen, BFP twins!!!!

So there is really no corrolation!!!

Don't stress over it, it isn't HOW many you get, it is the quality of the ones you get!

 

My first two cycles I got 7 and all fertilized (ICIS) and only 5 made it to day 3 and transfered 2 each. 1st was miscarriage, and 2nd resulted in twins. My third is more of blur but i know they got more (12?!?) and 7 fertilized and 5 were good on day 3 for transfer which was Brady. I still have 4 frozen

Technically, I've had 3 BFP's, although only one resulted in a live baby.

IVF #1 - 3 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilized, 1 lived to transfer - BFP, but ectopic

IVF #4 - 4 eggs retrieved, fertilized, and all transferred - BFP, but m/c at 7 weeks

IVF #8 DE - 23 eggs retrieved, 19 fertilized, 9 on transfer day, 3 transferred, 1 frozen

Oh, and all of my transfers were on day 3.

Thanks Ladies!!  I'm feeling a little better.  I just worry about the maturity/fert rate since in the past that was low-- but maybe having fewer means more will be mature....and I just have to wait it out until tomorrow and get my fert report.

I've been so proud of my ability to let go this cycle but today has me back feeling like I did in 2008 pre-G.  Ah.  Deep breath!!

For DS1 -- 12 retrieved, 6 mature, all 6 fertilized w/ICSI -- transferred 2 on day 5

For DS2 -- 6 retrieved, 5 mature, all 5 fertilized w/ICSI -- transferred 2 on day 5...and had 1 left to put on ice!

You really can't predict anything at this point.  Good luck!!!!!!!

They expected to get 20, but got 14. Of those, only 2 were fertilized. We implanted both, one took and she's sitting in my lap right now. Good luck!!!
