I love Riley for a girl. I just can't help it. All my other favorite girl names are names like Emily, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Caroline, so Riley truly is a guilty pleasure!
Your "D" is Dashiell right? My MIL would go out of her head with that one. And I love it.
I like Poppy, Clementine, Calliope, Antigone, Persephone, Daphne, etc. I love the name Ivy but it is horrible with our last name. I love Josephine but MIL makes a barf face when she hears it. We aren't Welsh but I also like Ceinwen and Ceridwen (I know a mother/daughter with these names).

I
yep, he is! It fits him really well and we love it. We get a lot of mispronunciations and a lot of OH I LIKE THATs when people learn his name. And we gave him a firmly traditional middle to balance it out (Dashiell Jack).
I usually don't like made up names but a (very) small part of me likes the name Dereka (DH's name is Derek). I would never ever use it though, not even as a middle name.
Some times I like random Ys in names. It really depends on the name though.
DF keeps saying he want to name our baby Malcomb! I said like Malcomb in the middle? He said no like Malcomb X uggghhhh lol
I have never seen Malcolm spelled that way.
Ditto.
Also? Why would you be flamed for liking Daphne? I LOVE Daphne, and I know it's on a few bumpies' lists.
Looking back I realize my spelling error lol. Too much on the mind! Anyways DF cringes everytime I say Daphne and I dont think Daphne Parker sounds good.
I forgot to mention I like Genevieve and Gwendolyn for girls

Ever since I read "The Savage Detectives," I've liked the name Xochitl. But I am not even a small percentage Mexican and it feels weird to use such a distinctively Nahuatl name without the cultural connection.
I keep seeing the name Basil pop up around here, which is one of our top two choices for a boy. I was leaning towards the other name, but maybe Basil isn't as out-there as I thought?
I'm more likely to be called "boring" than to be flamed for my name choices: Margaret, Sarah, Miles.
Everett, Truett, Ryder, Ranin, Declan, Phoenix, Jasper, London, Lennon
Girls: Ryan, Lyric , Poet, Sorrow (gee kinda obvious there where the Sn came from) Ever or Everleigh, Sawyer, Gemini, Ganymede (Liked this when I was younger but it sounds like an STD to me now)
I actually love most of the really out there and made up names as long as they don't look like they're improperly spelled if that makes sense? Unique names=good unique spelling=not good.

I have a friend from HS with that name. Very awesome and not common.
I still love Aidan and I'm slightly jealous of those brave enough to use it in spite of its overwhelming popularity.
I like Grace and Leigh as mns. I always liked the actress Vivian Leigh. But now it is too often used in creative spellings. And DH will NOT stand for virtue names.
My way out there favorite name for a girl is Sequoia.
Re: baby names you love (but would be flamed for using)
I like Adolf and Wolfgang.
Alabama is darling to me, too. But a definite NO GO.
ETA: I also love Blanche and Gretchen.
I love Poppy and Honey and Clementine for girls
I love Basil and Graeme for boys.
I also confess to liking alternate spellings like Emmaleigh.
I'm sick, I know.
Olive
Jasper
Lola
Jolie
Pippa

For boys I like Malachi. Love, in fact.
Girls: Daisy, Trixie, Lulu, Scout
Boys: Rocco, Salinger
I just realized they all sound like dog names.
Though it looks Trendeigh, my great grandmother was named Emilie! I like that spelling too.

I like Corrick for a boy
DF keeps saying he want to name our baby Malcomb! I said like Malcomb in the middle? He said no like Malcomb X uggghhhh lol
I really like Fiona, Ella, Seraphina (family name).
For a boy I really like Ryder but it would never work with our last name.
I have never seen Malcolm spelled that way.

I posted mine not too long ago: word names like Song, Heart, and Soul. But especially Whisper.
I also confess to liking many names spelled with the -leigh ending, this comes from my love of writing the lowercase letter G: ) Silly? Yes, but true.
i'm not really a boys-names-on-girls lover, but i do think elliot is awesome for a girl. i just can't help it.
